Bandit Regatta – Mar 23rd 2020

Mild seas and a nice fleet turnout featured during this weeks North Sea Bandit Regatta. The waters of The North Sea regions were behaved for the most part, as two DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded on the day, one in each race. The first DNF occurred when a skippers internet connection dropping on her during the first race. The second DNF was due to a skipper and her crew crashing on a region crossing during the second race. The crowd gathered on the small race dock and Poseidon Centre Spectator pier, both in the Eden Jakana region, and along the beaches and on the lighthouse observation deck, on the island in the Ziziphus region, were cheering on this weeks Bandit skippers as they put on some great and exciting racing. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Trapezoid course and North Sea Olympic Course (Long), was comprised of a majority if six Bandit IFs, five sailing single-handed and one sailing with crew respectively. Four Bandit 25Rs rounded out this weeks Bandit fleet.

Today’s winner was Teagan (Teagan Snowpaw), with Daenerys (blondij Resident) second, and Sirius (Sirius Rosca) in third place. Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate and to the SLCG for helping with race duties.
