Smooth sailing weather, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks Cat Fight in The North Sea. The North Sea regions were behaving well, as only one DNF (Did Not Finish) was recorded on the day, during the first race. The crowds on the small race dock and Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier, both in the Eden Jakana region, and on the shores of the islands in the Ziziphus and Genip regions, were reveling in and cheering on the great racing from this weeks skippers. This weeks fleet, sailing on North Sea Olympic Course (Long) and a two lap affair on the North Sea Long Loop course, was comprised of a majority of six The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows, five sailing single-handed and one sailing with crew respectively. Two TMS Nacra 17s made up the remainder of this weeks fleet-foiled felines.

Race Director: Cryptic
Wind: SW (225°) 18kts

Note:
Did Not Finish (DNF) = number of finish +1
Did Not Start (DNS) = number of start +1

Today’s winner was Rayz (Rayzza Rubble), with Daenerys (blondij Resident) second, and Teagan (Teagan Snowpaw) in third place. Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.

Race Notes:
Teagan (Teagan Snowpaw) and Tara (Zella Ansar) both finished tied with 7 points. Rule A8.1 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:

If there is a series score tie between two or more boats, each boat’s race scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of the boat(s) with the best score(s). No excluded scores shall be used.

Skipper Best Finish Next Best Finish
Teagan Snowpaw 1 6
Zella Ansar 3 4

With the race results rearranged in best to worst finish order, per A8.1, the tie breaks in Teagan’s favor with having a first place finish over Tara’s third place finish as her best.
