Saturday afternoon. It was a beautiful day for sailing. This time we had eight Bandit IFs, including two with crew. After the start of the second race, fate struck and everyone in the same region crashed, in Eden. We had to stop the race and sail an alternative course. The North Sea regions behaved very well, in light of the one region in Eden. The starts of both races went smoothly.
In both competitions the fleet stayed together for a long time, but near Appleberry everyone made their own way to the river. In the second race, there was chaos at the first mark, as a skipper missed the mark and seemed to round it the other way around, but didn’t
We had two DNFs (Did Not Finish) and a DSQ (Disqualified) and it was another successful and sporty day in The North Sea.

Note:
Did Not Finish (DNF) = number of finish +1
Did Not Start (DNS) = number of start +1
Today’s winner was Julie (JulieRoyale Resident), with Siri (Sirius Rosca) second, and Rugger (Ruggeromare Resident) in third place. Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.
Race Notes:
Max (Maximiliano Szondi) was disqualified (DSQ) during the second race for sailing an incorrect course, he missed the first mark on the course, the yellow bouy in the Eden Scoter region.
Rugger (Ruggeromare Resident) and Tay (Tay Beningborough) both finished tied with 7 points. Rule A8.1 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:
“If there is a series score tie between two or more boats, each boat’s race scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of the boat(s) with the best score(s). No excluded scores shall be used.“
Skipper | Best Finish | Next Best Finish |
ruggeromare Resident | 2 | 5 |
Tay Beningborough | 3 | 4 |
With the race results rearranged in best to worst finish order, per A8.1, the tie breaks in Rugger’s favor with having a second place finish over Tay’s third place finish as her best.
