Mild sim sailing weather, with a new course, highlighted this weeks Cat Fight in The North Sea. The North Sea regions were mostly behaved as only three DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded on the day, two during the first race and one during the second race. The spectators on hand were still cheerful and reveling in the fleet-foiled feline action on display, as they gathered along the course on the islands in the Ziziphus, Genip, and Eden Auk regions, as well as both small racing docks in the Eden Jakana and Eden Jaeger regions. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Curlew to Jaeger 01 and the North Sea Barracuda1 courses, was comprised of a majority of four The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows, three sailing single-handed and one sailing with crew respectively. Two TMS Nacra 17s made up the remainder of this weeks fleet.

1North Sea Barracuda is a new course, created by myself, Cryptic, starting and finishing at our Eden Jaeger race line.

Race Director: Cryptic

Did Not Finish (DNF) = number of finish +1
Did Not Start (DNS) = number of start +1

Today’s winner was Nihiwatu (Nihiwatu Resident), with Isa (isab DeCuir) second, and Julie (JulieRoyale Resident) in third place. Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.

Race Notes:
Isa (isab DeCuir) and Julie (JulieRoyale Resident) finished tied with 6 points. As they both have duplicate finishes, Rule A8.2 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:

If a tie still remains between two or more boats, they shall be ranked in order of their scores in the last race. Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores.

Skipper Race 1 Race 2
isab DeCuir 4 2
JulieRoyale Resident 2 4

In the last race, Isa breaks the tie with Julie with her second place finish over Julie’s fourth place finish.
