Great sim sailing weather, with a nice fleet turnout, highlighted this weeks Cat Fight in The North Sea. The regions of the North Sea were excellently behaved as no crashes or DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded on the day. The spectators on hand took in the great sailing from this weeks fleet-foiled felines from the usual spots on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier, in the Eden Jakana region, and on the lighthouses on the islands in the Ziziphus, Genip, and Eden Auk regions. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Bowline Reverse and North Sea WC Reach 1 courses, was comprised of a majority of five The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows, three sailing single-handed and two sailing with crew respectively. Two TMS Nacra 17s rounded out this weeks fleet.

Race Notes:
Danerys (blondij Resident), Lalia (LaliaCasau Resident), and Isa (isab DeCuir) all finished tied with 7 points. Rule A8.1 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:

If there is a series score tie between two or more boats, each boat’s race scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of the boat(s) with the best score(s). No excluded scores shall be used.

With the race results rearranged in best to worst finish order, per A8.1, the tie breaks in Daenerys’s favor with having a first place finish over Lalia’s and Isa’s second place finishes as their best. As Lalia and Isa both have duplicate finishes, Rule A8.2 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing is used to break this remaining tie:

If a tie still remains between two or more boats, they shall be ranked in order of their scores in the last race. Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores.

Skipper Race 1 Race 2
LaliaCasau Resident 5 2
isab DeCuir 2 5

In the last race, Lalia breaks the tie with Isa with her second place finish over Isa’s fifth place finish.
