Great sailing conditions and fleet turnout, with a nice spectator turnout, highlighted this weeks North Sea Bandit Regatta. The regions of The North Sea behaved beautifully as no DNFs (Did Not Finish) or crashes were had on the day. Spectators gathered on the islands in the Genip, Ziziphus, and Eden Auk regions, as well as the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier, in the Eden Jakana region, and the small race dock, in the Eden Jaeger region, to take in our monthly There and Back Again between the Eden Curlew and Eden Jaeger race lines. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Curlew to Jaeger 01 and North Sea Jaeger to Curlew 01 courses, was comprised of a split majority of four Bandit IFs and four Bandit 25Rs. One Bandit 50/3 and one Bandit 55 made up the remainder of this weeks fleet.

Today’s winner was Ian (IanPixel Resident), with Daenerys (blondij Resident) second, and Jackson (Jacquimo Resident) in third place. Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate and to the SLCG for helping with race duties.
Zimtzicke (Nicole Myhre) and Sandra (WWWAAAA Resident) finished tied with 13 points. As they both have duplicate finishes, Rule A8.2 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:
“If a tie still remains between two or more boats, they shall be ranked in order of their scores in the last race. Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores.“

In the last race, Zimtzicke breaks the tie with Sandra with her sixth place finish over Sandra’s seventh place finish.
