It was Saturday afternoon again with eight bandit IFs at the starting line, four of which had crew, we could expect spectacularly. The wind was good and the sea was calm. After a good start of the first race, Ian quickly took the lead to not give it up until the finish. Rugger and Carlota fought for second place in the race. Unfortunately, Sasha fell back in the rear after a very good start.

In the second race, things started to get fierce right from the start. With five boats abreast, they all tried to reach the starting line first. Julie immediately searched the space of the sea and returned first. Later followed by Ian and Rugger. Carlota surprised Ian and Rugger at the first buoy to be the first to complete it. Behind them a fleet of 4 boats arose that were matched.

A stray Bandit, who came from Eden, bumped into the IFs. I would like to point out to sailors that sailboats in a race always have right of way in The North Sea.

With one DNF (Did Not Finish) and a 360 it was again a sporting if not successful day in The North Sea

Today’s winner was Ian (IanPixel Resident), with Carlota (Carlota Dufaux) second, and Siri (Sirius Rosca) in third place. Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.

Race Notes:
Julie (JulieRoyale Resident) and Max (Maximiliano Szondi) both finished tied with 13 points. Rule A8.1 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:

If there is a series score tie between two or more boats, each boat’s race scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of the boat(s) with the best score(s). No excluded scores shall be used.

Skipper Best Finish Next Best Finish
Julie 5 8
Max 6 7

With the race results rearranged in best to worst finish order, per A8.1, the tie breaks in Julie’s favor with having a fifth place finish over Max’s sixth place finish as his best.
