Choppy seas and a great spectator turnout highlighted this weeks Cat Fight in The North Sea. Four DNFs (Did Not Finish) on the day, two in each race, were the result of some rough sim sailing weather in The North Sea regions, with two different regions misbehaved. The gathered crowds on the shores of the island in the Ziziphus region and on the beaches of the Eden Albatros region still enjoyed some spirited sailing from the fleet-foiled felines. This weeks fleet, sailing on the North Sea Manta Reverse and North Sea Trapezoid courses, was comprised of a majority of six The Mesh Shop Flying Shadows, evenly split at three single-handed and three crewed respectively. One lone Wildwind AC-62 made up the remainder of the catamaran fleet.

Race Director: Cryptic

Did Not Finish (DNF) = number of finish +1

Today’s winner was Moon (moonglownight Resident), with Tara (Zella Ansar) second, and Daenerys (blondij Resident) in third place. Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.

Race Notes:
Daenerys (blondij Resident) and Fanny (FannyVermont Resident) finished tied with 7 points. As they both have duplicate finishes, Rule A8.2 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:

If a tie still remains between two or more boats, they shall be ranked in order of their scores in the last race. Any remaining ties shall be broken by using the tied boats’ scores in the next-to-last race and so on until all ties are broken. These scores shall be used even if some of them are excluded scores.

Skipper Race 1 Race 2
blondij Resident 6 1
FannyVermont Resident 1 6

In the last race, Daenerys breaks the tie with Fanny with her first place finish over Fanny’s sixth place finish.
