A great fleet turnout and mild sim sailing weather highlighted this weeks North Sea Open Regatta. The regions of the North Sea were mostly well behaved as only two DNFs (Did Not Finish) were recorded on the day, one in each portion. Once again, the spectators gathered on the Poseidon Centre Spectator Pier and along the shores of the island in the Ziziphus region were the recipient of the great sailing afforded by the decent sim sailing weather.
This weeks small boat fleet, sailing on the North Sea Triple Pink course, was comprised of a majority of seven The Mesh Shop (TMS) Flying Shadows, all being sailed single-handed. Three Bandit 25Rs, one TMS Nacra 17, one Shields Class, and one Dolphin Moth made up the remainder of this weeks small boat fleet. Meanwhile, the big boat fleet, sailing on the North Sea Copacabana course, was comprised of a majority of five Wildwind Open 60s. Two Wildwind AC-62s, and one TMS Volvo Open 70 made up the remainder of the big boat fleet.
