Great sailing weather and spectator turnout featured during this weeks Backwater Bay Yacht Club IF Star 25R Regatta. The Bingo Strait regions were well behaved today with the only DNF (Did Not Finish) due to Rayz’s connection problems. Spectators continued their strong trend of flocking to the water front for the villa in the Twice Bitten region as well as gathering on the committee boat dock in the Woodfall region. This weeks fleet, sailing on the BBCY Bowline and BBYC 03 courses, was comprised of a majority of five Bandit 25Rs with one loan Bandit IF making up the remainder.

Race Director: Victor
Asst Race Rirector: Cryptic

Note:
Did Not Finish (DNF) = number of finish +1
Did Not Start (DNS) = number of start +1

Today’s winner was Nikki (Nikki Lacrima), with Laured (laured Cabassoun) second, and Moon (moonglownight Resident) in third place. Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate and to SLCG for helping with race duties.

Race Notes:
Moon (moonglownight Resident) and Astrid (AstridNewBonham Resident) both finished tied with 7 points. Rule A8.1 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:

If there is a series score tie between two or more boats, each boat’s race scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of the boat(s) with the best score(s). No excluded scores shall be used.

Skipper Best Finish Next Best Finish
moonglownight Resident 1 6
AstridNewBonham Resident 3 4

With the race results rearranged in best to worst finish order, per A8.1, the tie breaks in Moon’s favor with having a first place finish over Astrid’s third place finish as her best.
