A new week brings a new Backwater Bay Yacht Club IF Star 25R Regatta. The Bingo Strait regions behaved well as the only DNF (Did Not Finish) on the day was due to the scripts in Max’s Bandit 25 ceasing to function. Spectator turnout was great as the committee boat dock in the Woodfall region was packed along with the waterfront for the Villa in the Twice Bitten region. This week also saw the debut of a new race director for Backwater Bay Yacht Club. Victor, who is certainly not new to Secondlife sailing, has joined Backwater Bay Yacht Club and brings with him race directing experience from races in The Blake Sea. This weeks fleet, racing on BBYC Olympic Course (Long) for race one, was comprised of a majority of four Bandit 25s with a The Mesh Shop (TMS) Star Class as the remainder. Race two saw the fleet mix flip as the majority was comprised of four TMS Star Class with two Bandit 25s as the remainder.

Race Director: Victor
Asst Race Rirector: Cryptic
Wind: SE (135°) 18kts

Note:
Did Not Finish (DNF) = number of finish +1
Did Not Start (DNS) = number of start +1

Today’s winner was Laured (laured Cabassoun), with Rayz (Rayzza Rubble) second, and Rugger (ruggeromare Resident) in third place. Congratulations to all of you. Thank you to everyone who came to sail and spectate.

Race Notes:
Astrid (AstridNewBonham Resident) and ViV (vivipezz Resident) both finished tied with 10 points. Rule A8.1 of Guidance on Scoring under Appendix A to the Rules of Sailing is used to break this tie:

If there is a series score tie between two or more boats, each boat’s race scores shall be listed in order of best to worst, and at the first point(s) where there is a difference the tie shall be broken in favour of the boat(s) with the best score(s). No excluded scores shall be used.

Skipper Best Finish Next Best Finish
AstridNewBonham Resident 3 7
vivipezz Resident 4 6

With the race results rearranged in best to worst finish order, per A8.1, the tie breaks in Astrid’s favor with having a third place finish over ViV’s fourth place finish as her best.
