This weeks North Sea Bandit Regatta was a return to form with smooth sim weather, a great turn out, and some fun racing. The sims got back to normal with no crashes to sim weather. We also welcomed two new racers this week with Alli, in her Bandit 55, and Alex, in her Bandit 60. This weeks fleet was comprised of a nice mix of big and small with a majority of five Bandit IF’s, followed by three Bandit 55’s and a Bandit 60.
The first race, on North Sea Olympic Course, saw a really great start from Alexandre, who got out ahead with 30 seconds advance of the rest of the fleet. Next up was Stu with Becca, Bettie and then Jackson. The rest of the fleet followed with new comers Alex and Alli with Vecchio, along with Jessica making up the rear. The fleet spread out with Alexandre taking off with a clear and growing lead that he never relinquished, finishing with line honors.
The second race, on NS-WC Rch, saw another really great start from Alexandre. This time, Stu with Becca, were right there as well to get in on the the good position. Cor was next over, followed by Bettie, Conner, Jackson, Jessica and finally Alex. The fleet once again spread out across the North Sea on this great reaching course. Alexandre held his lead the entire race with Stu and Becca right behind maintaining second. This was also the only race with a crash, with Conner tickling a corner right before the finish line, and recording a DNF.
